Together, with her business partner, Susan Correa, a seasoned production expert with over 25 years’ experience, the cooper & ella brand was born. Named after her two children (son, Cooper and daughter, Ella), they launched in Spring of 2013 with a focused capsule collection of women’s blouses; each style representing all she had been in search of for all those years – memorable, flattering pieces, truly special and versatile in design. In spring 2015, the collection expanded to include dresses.
With the launch of cooper & ella, the two powerhouses realized that with this came a real responsibility to make a difference. They promised themselves that they would be a company that not only offers a great product, but would make a difference while doing so. In establishing their many partners and brand friendships in India, they learned of the amazing work being done by the HOPE Foundation School in Bangalore.
They found themselves in awe of the dedicated children and passionate teachers, and realized that in providing a meal (a meal that may be the only one had all day) they at cooper & ella could help to provide so much more than that: a future.
In 2014, the launched Empower, an initiative in partnership with the Hope Foundation School devoted to the empowerment of children, from cradle to career. With each and every cooper & ella item purchased, they will provide one hot nutritious meal to a child in need.
